तावहं पुरुषव्याघ्रौ सुग्रीववचनात् प्रभू ।
रूपलक्षणसम्पन्नौ कृताञ्जलिरुपस्थितः ।

Tāvahaṃ puruṣavyāghrau sugrīvavacanāt prabhū |
rūpalakṣaṇasampannau kṛtāñjalirupasthitaḥ ॥5-35-30॥
Translation
At Sugriva's command, with folded hands, I approached those two capable tigers among men, who were endowed with beautiful form and auspicious marks.

सुग्रीव के आदेश से, मैं हाथ जोड़कर उन दोनों समर्थ पुरुष सिंहों के पास उपस्थित हुआ, जो रूप और शुभ लक्षणों से संपन्न थे।
English Commentary
Hanuman recounts his first approach to Rama and Lakshmana. Acting on Sugriva's orders, he approached them not with aggression, but with kṛtāñjali (folded hands/prayer pose), signifying respect and humility. He immediately noticed they were rūpalakṣaṇasampannau (endowed with beauty and auspicious bodily marks indicating royalty or divinity). By describing them as prabhū (capable/lords), Hanuman acknowledges that he instantly recognized their superior power and noble nature, foreshadowing his future devotion to them.

हनुमान जी अपनी पहली भेंट का वर्णन कर रहे हैं। वह राम और लक्ष्मण के पास 'कृताञ्जलि' (हाथ जोड़कर) विनम्रता के साथ गए। उन्होंने राम के शारीरिक सौंदर्य और राजसी लक्षणों ('रूपलक्षणसम्पन्नौ') को तुरंत पहचान लिया। यहाँ हनुमान जी अपनी विनय और अवलोकन क्षमता का परिचय दे रहे हैं। यद्यपि वह भिक्षु के रूप में गए थे (जो अन्य संदर्भों में वर्णित है), यहाँ वह अपनी आंतरिक भावना और सम्मान को व्यक्त कर रहे हैं। 'प्रभू' शब्द दर्शाता है कि वे दोनों समर्थ और शक्तिशाली प्रतीत हो रहे थे।
