कीदृशं तस्य संस्थानं रूपं रामस्य कीदृशम् ।
कथमूरू कथं बाहू लक्ष्मणस्य च शंस मे ।

Kidrisham tasya samsthanam rupam ramasya kidrisham |
Kathamuru katham bahu lakshmanasya cha shamsa me ॥5-35-4॥
Translation
What is the structure of his body? What is Rama's beauty like? How are his thighs and how are his arms? Tell me about Lakshmana as well.

राम की शारीरिक बनावट (संस्थान) कैसी है? उनका रूप कैसा है? उनकी जांघें कैसी हैं और भुजाएं कैसी हैं? मुझे लक्ष्मण के बारे में भी बताइये।
English Commentary
Sita gets specific, asking about anatomy—thighs, arms, and overall build ('Samsthanam'). In the epic context, heroic figures have distinct physical attributes (e.g., arms reaching knees, lion-like stance). By asking for these details, Sita is essentially asking for a biometric verification of her husband. It also reflects her longing; she wants to reconstruct the image of her beloved in her mind's eye, part by part, through Hanuman's words.

यहाँ सीता जी विशिष्ट अंग-प्रत्यंगों का विवरण मांग रही हैं—'संस्थानं' (गठन), 'ऊरू' (जांघें), 'बाहू' (भुजाएं)। सामुद्रिक शास्त्र के अनुसार महापुरुषों के ये अंग विशेष प्रकार के होते हैं। सीता जी यह परखना चाहती हैं कि क्या हनुमान ने वास्तव में उन्हें ध्यान से देखा है। साथ ही, राम की विशाल भुजाओं और बलिष्ठ जांघों का वर्णन सुनना उन्हें राम के क्षत्रिय बल और पौरुष की याद दिलाता है, जो उनकी रक्षा करने में सक्षम है। लक्ष्मण को भी इसमें शामिल करना उनके वात्सल्य को दर्शाता है।
