तवादर्शनशोकेन राघवः प्रविचाल्यते ।
महता भूमिकम्पने महानिव शिलोच्चयः ।

Tavādarśanaśokena rāghavaḥ pravicālyate |
mahatā bhūmikampane mahāniva śiloccayaḥ ॥5-35-46॥
Translation
Raghava is shaken by the grief of your absence, just as a great mountain is shaken by a mighty earthquake.

आपके दर्शन न होने के शोक से राघव उसी प्रकार डगमगा जाते हैं (विचलित हो जाते हैं), जैसे भारी भूकंप आने पर विशाल पर्वत हिल जाता है।
English Commentary
Rama is typically depicted as stoic and immovable like a mountain. However, Hanuman states that the grief of Sita's absence shakes him profoundly. The metaphor used is that of a massive earthquake (mahatā bhūmikampane) shaking a great mountain (śiloccayaḥ). This signifies that while Rama can withstand ordinary trials without flinching, the loss of Sita is a cataclysmic event that destabilizes his very core. It emphasizes to Sita that she is the foundation of his stability.

राम को अक्सर 'अचल' (अडिग) और धैर्यवान माना जाता है। लेकिन हनुमान जी कहते हैं कि सीता का वियोग इतना भीषण है कि उसने राम के धैर्य को भी हिला दिया है। 'प्रविचाल्यते' (बुरी तरह हिल जाना) क्रिया का प्रयोग किया गया है। उपमा 'शिलोच्चयः' (पर्वत) की है। जैसे पर्वत सामान्य हवाओं से नहीं हिलता, केवल भयंकर भूकंप ('महता भूमिकम्पने') ही उसे हिला सकता है, वैसे ही सामान्य दुख राम को विचलित नहीं कर सकते, केवल सीता के वियोग रूपी भूकंप ने ही उन्हें कंपित किया है।
