अङ्गदो नाम लक्ष्मीवान् वालिसूनुर्महाबलः ।
प्रस्थितः कापिशार्दूलस्त्रिभागबलसंवृतः ।

Aṅgado nāma lakṣmīvān vālisūnurmahābalaḥ |
prasthitaḥ kāpiśārdūlastribhāgabalasaṃvṛtaḥ ॥5-35-56॥
Translation
The glorious and mighty son of Vali, named Angada, a tiger among monkeys, set out surrounded by one-third of the army.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वाली के पुत्र, महाबलशाली और लक्ष्मीवान (शोभा संपन्न) 'अंगद' नामक वानर श्रेष्ठ, सेना के एक तिहाई भाग को साथ लेकर निकले हैं।
English Commentary
Hanuman introduces the leader of his specific platoon: Angada. Notably, Angada is identified as vālisūnu (Vali's son). It implies a great reconciliation where the nephew serves the uncle and his father's slayer for a greater cause. Angada marched with tribhāgabala (one-third of the total force), indicating that the southern direction was prioritized, likely because Ravana was suspected to be there. This detail validates the strategic importance of Hanuman’s group.

हनुमान जी अपने दल के नेता का परिचय देते हैं। यह दल दक्षिण दिशा की ओर आया था। इसके नेता अंगद हैं, जो वाली के पुत्र हैं। यह महत्वपूर्ण है कि पिता (वाली) का वध राम के हाथों होने के बावजूद, पुत्र (अंगद) राम के कार्य के लिए समर्पित है। 'त्रिभागबलसंवृतः' बताता है कि सुग्रीव ने दक्षिण दिशा को कितना महत्व दिया, क्योंकि उन्होंने अपनी सेना का एक तिहाई हिस्सा (जो बहुत बड़ा भाग है) इस दिशा में भेजा। अंगद को 'लक्ष्मीवान' और 'कपिशार्दूल' कहा गया है।
