तेषां नः स्वामिसन्देशान्निराशानां मुमूर्षताम् ।
कार्यहेतोरिवायातः शकुनिर्वीर्यवान् महान् ।

teṣāṃ naḥ svāmisandeśānnirāśānāṃ mumūrṣatām |
kāryahetorivāyātaḥ śakunirvīryavān mahān ॥5-35-62॥
Translation
While we were hopeless and wishing to die due to (our failure to fulfill) the Master's command, a great and powerful bird arrived there, as if for the sake of accomplishing our task.
हिंदी अनुवाद
स्वामी (सुग्रीव) के आदेश का पालन न कर पाने के कारण निराश और मरने की इच्छा रखने वाले हम लोगों के पास, मानो कार्य की सिद्धि के लिए ही, एक विशाल और शक्तिशाली पक्षी आ पहुँचा।
English Commentary
This verse marks the providential turning point in the search for Sita. Hanuman describes the arrival of Sampati not merely as a coincidence, but as an event destined 'for the sake of the task' (karyahetoriva). The Vanaras were in a state of utter despondency, 'mumurshatam' (wishing to die), because they had failed to execute the orders of their master, Sugriva. The arrival of the 'great and powerful bird' (shakunirviryavan mahan) at that precise moment of vulnerability underscores the theme of divine intervention assisting Rama's cause. Hanuman narrates this to impress upon Sita that their journey to find her was guided by forces greater than themselves. It transforms the narrative from a failed mission to a divinely orchestrated success, reassuring Sita that the universe itself is conspiring for her rescue.

यह श्लोक कथा में एक नाटकीय मोड़ (turning point) को दर्शाता है। जब वानर जीवन की आशा छोड़ चुके थे, तब दैवीय कृपा की भाँति सम्पाति का आगमन हुआ। हनुमान जी 'स्वामिसन्देशात्' (स्वामी के संदेश/आदेश के कारण) पद का प्रयोग करके यह स्पष्ट करते हैं कि वानरों की निष्ठा अपने राजा सुग्रीव के प्रति अटूट थी, और उनकी मृत्यु की इच्छा भी कर्तव्य पालन में असफलता के भय से जन्मी थी। 'कार्यहेतोरिव' (मानो कार्य सिद्धि के लिए ही) वाक्यांश यह सूचित करता है कि यद्यपि वह पक्षी संयोगवश आया था, परन्तु यह राम के कार्य को सिद्ध करने की दैवीय योजना का हिस्सा प्रतीत होता था। हनुमान जी सीता जी को यह बता रहे हैं कि कैसे विषम परिस्थितियों में भी नियति ने उनका साथ दिया और उन्हें सही मार्ग दिखाने वाला माध्यम मिल गया।
