अङ्गदोऽकथयत्तस्य जनस्थाने महद्वधम् ।
रक्षसा भीमरूपेण त्वामुद्दिश्य यथातथम् ।

aṅgado 'kathayattasya janasthāne mahadvadham |
rakṣasā bhīmarūpeṇa tvāmuddiśya yathātatham ॥5-35-65॥
Translation
Then Angada told him exactly as it happened about that great killing in Janasthana by a terrible-looking demon for your sake.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब अंगद ने उस (सम्पाति) को जनस्थान में घटे उस महान वध (जटायु वध) के बारे में, जो भयानक रूप वाले राक्षस (रावण) द्वारा आपके निमित्त किया गया था, ज्यों का त्यों (यथार्थ रूप में) कह सुनाया।
English Commentary
Hanuman recounts that Angada provided a truthful and detailed account ('yathatatham') of Jatayu's death to Sampati. Key to this verse is the phrase 'tvam uddishya' (for your sake/targeting you). Angada explicitly linked the tragedy to the abduction of Sita. He explained that the 'great killing' (mahad vadham) in Janasthana was committed by a 'terrible-looking demon' (Ravana) while Jatayu was trying to rescue her. By relaying this to Sita, Hanuman serves two purposes: first, he honors Jatayu's sacrifice by acknowledging it was for her; second, he confirms to Sita that the outside world knows exactly what happened in Janasthana. It reinforces that the narrative of her abduction is understood by her rescuers, and they view her recovery as a moral imperative linked to that sacrifice.

हनुमान जी बताते हैं कि अंगद ने सम्पाति की जिज्ञासा शांत की। यहाँ 'त्वामुद्दिश्य' (आपके निमित्त/आपके कारण) वाक्यांश बहुत महत्वपूर्ण है। अंगद ने स्पष्ट किया कि जटायु का वध सीता जी की रक्षा के प्रयास में हुआ था। 'यथातथम्' का अर्थ है 'जैसा हुआ था बिल्कुल वैसा ही', बिना किसी मिलावट के। यह दर्शाता है कि वानर सत्यवादी हैं। 'भीमरूपेण रक्षसा' रावण की क्रूरता और शक्ति का संकेत देता है। हनुमान जी सीता जी को यह बताकर यह जताना चाहते हैं कि उनका अपहरण केवल एक व्यक्तिगत दुर्घटना नहीं थी, बल्कि इसके लिए जटायु जैसे महात्माओं ने अपने प्राण दिए हैं, और पूरी वानर सेना इसी उद्देश्य के लिए संघर्ष कर रही है। यह सीता जी को उनके महत्व और उनके प्रति राम के सहयोगियों के समर्पण का अहसास कराता है।
