जटायुषो वधं श्रुत्वा दुःखितः सोऽरुणात्मजः ।
त्वां शशंस वरारोहे वसन्तीं रावणालये ।

jaṭāyuṣo vadhaṃ śrutvā duḥkhitaḥ so 'ruṇātmajaḥ |

Translation
Hearing of Jatayu's killing, that son of Aruna (Sampati) was grieved, and he revealed that you, O lady of beautiful hips, are living in Ravana's abode.

हे सुंदरी (वरारोहे)! जटायु के वध की बात सुनकर वह अरुण-पुत्र (सम्पाति) बहुत दुखी हुआ और उसने बताया कि आप रावण के घर में निवास कर रही हैं।
English Commentary
This verse delivers the climax of the search mission narration. Sampati, referred to here as the "son of Aruna" (the charioteer of the Sun God), reveals the vital intelligence: Sita is in "Ravanalaye" (Ravana's abode/Lanka). Despite his grief over Jatayu, Sampati uses his knowledge (and far-sighted vision described elsewhere) to aid Rama's cause. The address "Vararohe" is a traditional Sanskrit epithet for a beautiful woman (literally meaning one with beautiful hips/waist), used here respectfully by Hanuman to address Sita's nobility and grace. Hanuman confirms that their arrival in Lanka was based on specific intelligence provided by a credible witness, Sampati, rather than random wandering. This detail is intended to build Sita's confidence in the organized nature of the rescue mission.
