यानि रामस्य चिह्नानि लक्ष्मणस्य च यानि वै ।
लक्षितानि विशालाक्षि वदतः शृणु तानि मे ।

Yani ramasya chihnani lakshmanasya cha yani vai |
Lakshitani vishalakshi vadatah shrinu tani me ॥5-35-7॥
Translation
O large-eyed one! Listen to me as I describe the marks and characteristics of Rama and Lakshmana that I have observed.

हे विशालाक्षी (विशाल नेत्रों वाली)! राम और लक्ष्मण के जो चिह्न (लक्षण) मैंने देखे और लक्ष्य किये हैं, मेरे द्वारा कहे जा रहे उन चिह्नों को सुनिये।
English Commentary
Hanuman prepares Sita for the detailed description. By using the term 'Lakshitani' (observed/marked), he emphasizes that his knowledge comes from direct, careful observation during his time with Rama, not from hearsay. Calling her 'Vishalakshi' (large-eyed) is a traditional honorific implying wisdom and perception. He invites her to verify his observations against her own intimate knowledge, confident that they will match perfectly.

हनुमान जी अब वर्णन शुरू करने की अनुमति लेते हैं। वे सीता को 'विशालाक्षी' कहते हैं, जो सौंदर्य का प्रतीक तो है ही, साथ ही यह भी दर्शाता है कि उनकी बड़ी आँखें सत्य को देखने और पहचानने में सक्षम हैं। 'लक्षितानि' शब्द बताता है कि हनुमान ने राम को सरसरी तौर पर नहीं, बल्कि गहराई से और ध्यानपूर्वक (observed closely) देखा है। एक गुप्तचर और दूत के रूप में उनकी अवलोकन क्षमता (observation skills) यहाँ प्रमाणित होती है।
