लंका चापि मया रात्रौ प्रविष्टा राक्षसाकुला ।
रावणश्च मया दृष्टस्त्वं च शोकपरिप्लुता ।

laṅkā cāpi mayā rātrau praviṣṭā rākṣasākulā |
rāvaṇaśca mayā dṛṣṭastvaṃ ca śokapariplutā ॥5-35-71॥
Translation
And (having crossed the ocean), I entered Lanka, crowded with demons, at night. Ravana was seen by me, and (now) you, overwhelmed with grief, are seen.

और (समुद्र पार करके) राक्षसों से भरी हुई लंका में मैंने रात्रि के समय प्रवेश किया। मैंने रावण को देखा और (अब) शोक में डूबी हुई आपको देख रहा हूँ।
English Commentary
Hanuman concludes his brief narrative by summarizing his actions upon reaching the southern shore. He confirms entering the hostile territory of Lanka, 'rakshas-akula' (teeming with demons), specifically noting he did so 'ratrau' (at night), showcasing his strategic caution. He mentions sighting Ravana, confirming he has identified the abductor. Finally, he culminates with the present moment: seeing Sita herself, whom he describes as 'shoka-paripluta' (overwhelmed/flooded with grief). This validation of her emotional state serves as a moment of empathy. With this, he completes the chain of events from the Vindhyas to the Ashoka Vatika, leaving no doubt about his journey or identity.

यह श्लोक हनुमान जी के वर्णन का उपसंहार है। वे अपनी यात्रा के अंतिम चरण का वर्णन करते हैं। उन्होंने रात्रि में लंका में प्रवेश किया (ताकि पकड़े न जाएँ), जो 'राक्षसाकुला' (राक्षसों से भरी हुई) थी। उन्होंने अपने शत्रु रावण को भी देखा, जो उनकी गुप्तचरी का हिस्सा था। और अंत में, वे अपने मुख्य उद्देश्य पर आते हैं—'त्वं च शोकपरिप्लुता' (और आप, जो शोक में डूबी हैं, देखी गईं)। यहाँ 'दृष्टा' (देखी गईं) क्रिया का प्रयोग परोक्ष रूप से वर्तमान स्थिति को भी इंगित करता है। हनुमान जी ने अपनी पूरी यात्रा—निराशा से लेकर सफलता तक—का सार इन श्लोकों में कह दिया है ताकि सीता जी को विश्वास हो जाए कि वे राम के सच्चे दूत हैं।
