Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
हनुमन्तं कपिं व्यक्तं मन्यते नान्यथेति सा ।
अथोवाच हनूमांस्तामुत्तरं प्रियदर्शनाम् ।
।
॥५-३५-८७॥
Hanumantaṃ kapiṃ vyaktaṃ manyate nānyatheti sā । Athovāca hanūmāṃstāmuttaraṃ priyadarśanām । । ॥5-35-87॥
Translation
She clearly considered Hanuman to be a monkey and not otherwise (a demon in disguise). Then Hanuman spoke further words in reply to her, the pleasant-looking one.
हिंदी अनुवाद
अब उन्होंने (सीता ने) स्पष्ट रूप से मान लिया कि हनुमान एक वानर ही हैं, अन्यथा (मायावी राक्षस) नहीं। तब हनुमान ने उन प्रियदर्शन (सुंदर दिखने वाली) सीता से उत्तर रूप में (अगला) वचन कहा।
English Commentary
This verse confirms the consolidation of trust. The phrase 'manyate na anyatha' (she thought not otherwise) is definitive; the hypothesis that he is a Rakshasa in disguise is discarded completely. Sita accepts him as a 'Kapi' (monkey) sent by Rama. Recognizing this shift in her demeanor, denoted by the epithet 'priyadarśanām' (one who is pleasant to look at—reflecting the return of her glow mentioned in the previous verse), Hanuman proceeds to the next phase of his mission. He can now speak freely without the barrier of suspicion, moving from establishing identity to delivering the core message and token.

यह श्लोक पूर्ण विश्वास की स्थापना का सूचक है। 'व्यक्तं' (स्पष्ट रूप से) और 'न अन्यथा' (कुछ और नहीं)—ये शब्द सीता जी के मन से सारे भ्रमों के निवारण की पुष्टि करते हैं। अब उनके मन में यह डर नहीं है कि यह रावण की कोई चाल है। जैसे ही हनुमान जी ने देखा कि सीता जी अब आश्वस्त और शांत हैं, उन्होंने अपनी बात को आगे बढ़ाया। सीता जी के लिए 'प्रियदर्शनाम्' विशेषण का प्रयोग यह बताता है कि विश्वास और हर्ष के कारण उनका रूप अब हनुमान जी को भी आनंदित कर रहा है, जो पहले शोक के कारण म्लान दिखाई दे रही थीं। संवाद अब एक नए स्तर पर पहुँच गया है।
