तेजसा ऽ ऽदित्यसङ्काशः क्षमया पृथिवीसमः ।
बृहस्पतिसमो बुद्ध्या यशसा वासवोपमः ।

Tejasa ''dityasankashah kshamaya prithivisamah |
Brihaspatisamo buddhya yashasa vasavopamah ॥5-35-9॥
Translation
He equals the Sun in brilliance, the Earth in forgiveness, Brihaspati in intellect, and Vasava (Indra) in fame.

वे तेज में सूर्य के समान, क्षमा में पृथ्वी के समान, बुद्धि में बृहस्पति के समान और यश में इंद्र के समान हैं।
English Commentary
Hanuman uses cosmic similes to define Rama’s character, covering all dimensions of leadership. Sun (Tejas): Unapproachable glory and energy. Earth (Kshama): Infinite patience and forgiveness (vital for a King). Brihaspati (Buddhi): Supreme wisdom and strategy. Indra (Yasha): Renowned fame and kingly status. This confirms to Sita that Rama retains his royal and divine qualities despite his exile.

यह श्लोक उपमाओं का उत्कृष्ट उदाहरण है। राम का 'तेज' सूर्य जैसा है जिसे शत्रु देख नहीं सकते। उनकी 'क्षमा' पृथ्वी जैसी है जो सबका भार और आघात सहती है (जैसे राम ने कैकेयी का आघात सहा)। उनकी 'बुद्धि' देवगुरु बृहस्पति जैसी है, और उनका 'यश' देवराज इंद्र जैसा व्याप्त है। हनुमान जी इन तुलनाओं के माध्यम से राम के व्यक्तित्व के चार आयाम—शक्ति, सहनशीलता, ज्ञान और कीर्ति—को एक साथ प्रस्तुत कर रहे हैं।
