Arhase ca kapiśreṣṭha mayā samabhibhāṣitum ।
Yadyapi preṣitastena rāmeṇa viditātmanā ।
॥५-३६-१०॥
Arhase ca kapiśreṣṭha mayā samabhibhāṣitum । Yadyapi preṣitastena rāmeṇa viditātmanā । ॥5-36-10॥
Translation
O best of monkeys, you are worthy of being spoken to by me, especially since you are sent by that Rama who is the knower of the Self.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे कपिश्रेष्ठ! तुम मुझसे वार्तालाप करने के योग्य हो, विशेष रूप से इसलिए कि तुम्हें उस आत्मज्ञानी राम द्वारा भेजा गया है।
English Commentary
Sita validates the propriety of conversing with Hanuman. As a strict adherent to dharma, she would typically avoid intimate conversation with a stranger. However, she deems him worthy (arhase) because he carries the mandate of Rama. She describes Rama as viditātmanā—one who knows the nature of the self (or one who knows the true character of others). The logic is that Rama, possessing divine insight, would never entrust his message to an unworthy or unrighteous messenger.

पतिव्रता धर्म के अनुसार, सीता जी पर-पुरुष से बात करने में संकोच करती हैं, परन्तु यहाँ वे हनुमान जी को 'अर्हसे' (योग्य) मानती हैं। इसका मुख्य कारण है उनका 'विदितात्मना' राम द्वारा प्रेषित होना। राम 'विदितात्मा' हैं—वे सब कुछ जानने वाले और अंतर्यामी हैं। यदि राम ने किसी पर विश्वास किया है, तो वह व्यक्ति अवश्य ही पवित्र और विश्वसनीय होगा। यहाँ राम की कसौटी ही हनुमान जी की योग्यता का प्रमाण है।
