Kuśalī yadi kākutsthaḥ kinnu sāgaramekhalām ।
Mahīṃ dahati kopena yugāntāgnirivotthitaḥ ।

Kuśalī yadi kākutsthaḥ kinnu sāgaramekhalām । Mahīṃ dahati kopena yugāntāgnirivotthitaḥ । ॥5-36-13॥
Translation
If Kakutstha (Rama) is well, why does he not burn the earth, girdled by the ocean, with his wrath, like the fire risen at the end of the yuga?
हिंदी अनुवाद
यदि काकुत्स्थ (राम) कुशल हैं, तो वे सागर रूपी मेखला (करधनी) वाली पृथ्वी को अपने कोप से, प्रलयकालीन अग्नि की भांति (युगान्ताग्निरिव), जला क्यों नहीं देते?
English Commentary
A poignant mix of faith and despair appears here. Sita questions why, if Rama is indeed kuśalī (well), the world still stands. She envisions Rama's wrath as capable of being the yugāntāgni (apocalyptic fire). The imagery of the earth being sāgaramekhalām (girdled by the ocean) emphasizes the global scale of the destruction she believes Rama is capable of unleashing to avenge the wrong done to her. It implies: "If he is capable, why am I still suffering?"

यहाँ सीता जी के मन का संताप और राम के पौरुष पर उनका गर्व एक साथ झलकता है। यदि राम जीवित और स्वस्थ हैं, तो वे इस अन्याय को सहन क्यों कर रहे हैं? सीता जी को विश्वास है कि राम में वह शक्ति है जो 'युगान्ताग्नि' (प्रलय की अग्नि) के समान समस्त पृथ्वी को भस्म कर सकती है। यह प्रश्न शिकायत नहीं, बल्कि राम की असीम शक्ति का उद्घोष है और उनके विरह की पीड़ा की अभिव्यक्ति है।
