Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
मन्निमित्तेन मानार्हः कच्चिच्छोकेन राघवः ।
कच्चिन्नान्यमना रामः कच्चिन्मां तारयिष्यति ।
।
॥५-३६-२३॥
Mannimittena mānārhaḥ kaccicchokena rāghavaḥ । Kaccinnānyamanā rāmaḥ kaccinmāṃ tārayiṣyati । । ॥5-36-23॥
Translation
Is the honorable Raghava grieving on my account? Is Rama not distracted (or devoted to another)? Will he rescue me?

क्या मान (सम्मान) के योग्य राघव मेरे कारण शोक करते हैं? क्या राम का मन कहीं और (अन्यमना) तो नहीं लग गया? क्या वे मुझे इस सागर से पार (तारयिष्यति) उतारेंगे?
English Commentary
Sita seeks reassurance on Rama's focus. Describing him as mānārhaḥ (deserving of honor), she acknowledges that her abduction is a slight to his honor. The phrase anyamanā literally means "mind on another." In a romantic context, it expresses a fear of being replaced; in a strategic context, it implies distraction. She wants to know if his grief (shoka) is focused on her (mannimittena) and if that focus will translate into action to rescue (tārayiṣyati) her. She needs to know she is still the center of his world.

'मानार्हः' (सम्मान के योग्य) विशेषण का प्रयोग करके सीता कहती हैं कि राम का अपमान हुआ है क्योंकि उनकी पत्नी का हरण हुआ है। वे पूछती हैं 'कच्चिन्नान्यमना'—क्या उनका मन किसी और विचार (या स्त्री) में तो नहीं लगा? यद्यपि सीता को राम के एकपत्नीव्रत पर भरोसा है, तथापि विरह की पीड़ा मन में ऐसे प्रश्न लाती है। 'तारयिष्यति' का अर्थ है विपत्ति रूपी सागर से पार लगाना। वे पुष्टि चाहती हैं कि राम का एकमात्र लक्ष्य सीता की खोज ही है।
