Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
प्रत्ययार्थं तवानीतं तेन दत्तं महात्मना ।
समाश्वसिहि भद्रं ते क्षीणदुःखफला ह्यसि ।
।
॥५-३६-३॥
Pratyayārthaṃ tavānītaṃ tena dattaṃ mahātmanā । Samāśvasihi bhadraṃ te kṣīṇaduḥkhaphalā hyasi । । ॥5-36-3॥
Translation
It was given by that Great Soul (Rama) and brought by me for the sake of your confidence. Be comforted; may good betide you. You are one whose fruit of sorrow has decayed (your sorrow is coming to an end).
हिंदी अनुवाद
आपके विश्वास के लिए ही उस महात्मा (राम) द्वारा दी गई यह (अंगूठी) मैं लाया हूँ। आप आश्वस्त हों, आपका कल्याण हो। आपके दुःखों का फल अब समाप्त हो गया है (दुःख के दिन अब बीत गए हैं)।
English Commentary
Hanuman emphasizes the origin of the ring—it was given by the 'Mahatmana' (Great Soul) Rama himself explicitly for her 'pratyayartham' (verification/trust). He follows the presentation with powerful words of reassurance: 'Samāśvasihi' (be comforted). The phrase 'kṣīṇa-duḥkha-phalā hyasi' is profound; it metaphorically suggests that the 'fruit' of her past karma resulting in sorrow has withered away or been exhausted. It is a declaration that the tide has turned. He acts not just as a messenger of information, but as a harbinger of hope and changing fortunes.

हनुमान जी स्पष्ट करते हैं कि यह अंगूठी राम जी ने स्वयं ('तेन दत्तं') दी है। 'प्रत्ययार्थं' का अर्थ है विश्वास दिलाने के लिए। इसके बाद हनुमान जी एक भविष्यवाणी या आशीर्वाद देते हैं—'क्षीणदुःखफला ह्यसि'। इसका अर्थ है कि अब आपके दुःखों का अंत निकट है। जैसे वृक्ष से फल पककर गिर जाता है या सूख जाता है, वैसे ही अब सीता के कष्टों का समय पूरा हो चुका है। 'भद्रं ते' (आपका कल्याण हो) वैदिक शैली का आशीर्वाद है। यह वाक्य सीता जी के हताश मन में प्राण फूँकने वाला है।
