इति संजल्पमानां तां रामार्थे शोककर्शिताम् ।
अश्रुसम्पूर्णनयनामुवाच वचनं कपिः ।

Iti saṃjalpamānāṃ tāṃ rāmārthe śokakarśitām । Aśrusampūrṇanayanāmuvāca vacanaṃ kapiḥ । । ॥5-37-17॥
Translation
To her who was speaking thus, emaciated by grief for Rama's sake, and whose eyes were filled with tears, the monkey spoke these words.
हिंदी अनुवाद
इस प्रकार राम के लिए (राम के विषय में) बातें करती हुई, शोक से दुर्बल और आंसुओं से भरी आँखों वाली सीता से हनुमान ने ये वचन कहे।
English Commentary
This narrative verse bridges Sita's monologue and Hanuman's response. It paints a poignant picture of Sita: speaking proudly of her husband yet physically wasted (karśitām) by grief and blinded by tears. Seeing her oscillate between pride in Rama and despair over her situation prompts Hanuman to intervene. Her vulnerability triggers his protective instinct, leading to the bold offer in the following verses.
हिंदी टीका
यह श्लोक एक कथा-सूत्र (narrative bridge) है। सीता जी अपने मन की व्यथा और राम की प्रशंसा करते-करते भावुक हो गयी हैं। उनकी आँखों में आंसू हैं और शरीर शोक से कृश (पतला) हो गया है। उनकी यह दशा देखकर हनुमान जी का हृदय द्रवित हो उठता है और वे उन्हें तत्काल सांत्वना देने के लिए एक प्रस्ताव रखते हैं।
