तव सत्त्वं बलं चैव विजानामि महाकपे ।
वायोरिव गतिं चापि तेजश्चाग्नेरिवाद्भुतम् ।

Tava sattvaṃ balaṃ caiva vijānāmi mahākape । Vāyoriva gatiṃ cāpi tejaścāgnerivādbhutam । । ॥5-37-39॥
Translation
"O great monkey, I fully understand your strength and prowess. I know your speed is like the wind and your brilliance is wondrous like the fire."

"हे महाकपि! मैं तुम्हारे बल और पराक्रम को भली-भांति जानती हूँ। मैं जानती हूँ कि तुम्हारी गति वायु के समान है और तुम्हारा तेज अग्नि के समान अद्भुत है।"
English Commentary
Sita validates Hanuman's demonstration explicitly. She acknowledges three distinct attributes: his physical might ('sattva/balam'), his velocity ('gati') comparable to the wind, and his radiance ('tejas') comparable to fire. Addressing him as 'Mahakape' (Great Monkey), she confirms that his display has successfully erased her skepticism about his capacity. This validation is a crucial prelude to her refusal; she wants to ensure Hanuman understands that her refusal is based on propriety and logistics, not a lack of faith in his ability.
