जानामि गमने शक्तिं नयने चापि ते मम ।
अवश्यं संप्रधार्याशु कार्यसिद्धिर्महात्मनः ।

Jānāmi gamane śaktiṃ nayane cāpi te mama । Avaśyaṃ saṃpradhāryāśu kāryasiddhirmahātmanaḥ । । ॥5-37-41॥
Translation
"I know you have the power to return and also the power to carry me. However, O great soul, the successful completion of the mission must be determined quickly (and carefully)."

"मैं जानती हूँ कि तुममें (वापस) जाने की और मुझे ले जाने की भी शक्ति है। किन्तु हे महात्मन्! कार्य की सिद्धि (सफलता) का निश्चय भी शीघ्र कर लेना आवश्यक है।"
English Commentary
Sita exhibits profound pragmatism here. While she admits Hanuman has the capability ('shakti') to carry her, she shifts the focus to karyasiddhi (the successful fulfillment of the objective). She implies that raw power does not guarantee success; strategy and safety are equally important. Addressing him as 'Mahatman', she gently introduces the idea that a hasty rescue attempt might jeopardize the ultimate goal—which is not just her escape, but the total elimination of the threat and a reunion consistent with Dharma.

यहाँ सीता जी की दूरदर्शिता (Vision) प्रकट होती है। वे कहती हैं कि केवल 'शक्ति' होना पर्याप्त नहीं है, 'कार्यसिद्धि' (mission success) सर्वोपरि है। वे हनुमान को 'महात्मन्' कहती हैं, जो उनके संयम और महानता का सूचक है। सीता जी का तर्क है कि मुझे ले जाने की क्षमता होना एक बात है, लेकिन सुरक्षित रूप से राम तक पहुँचाना दूसरी बात है। इसमें कई व्यावहारिक बाधाएँ आ सकती हैं जिन पर विचार करना आवश्यक है। यह श्लोक सीता के रणनीतिक कौशल को दर्शाता है।
