तैस्त्वं परिवृतः शूरैः शूलमुद्गरपाणिभिः ।
भवेस्त्वं संशयं प्राप्तो मया वीर कलत्रवान् ।
।
॥५-३७-४७॥
Taistvaṃ parivṛtaḥ śūraiḥ śūlamudgarapāṇibhiḥ । Bhavestvaṃ saṃśayaṃ prāpto mayā vīra kalatravān । । ॥5-37-47॥
Translation
"O hero, surrounded by those warriors holding spears and clubs, you will be in great danger because of me (the burden you are carrying)."

"हे वीर! शूल और मुद्गर हाथों में लिए उन शूरवीरों से घिर जाने पर, मेरे (भार) कारण तुम संकट में पड़ जाओगे।"
English Commentary
Sita highlights the tactical disadvantage of a 'one versus many' scenario. Hanuman would be outnumbered and encumbered by carrying her, while the Rakshasas would be fully armed with spears and clubs. Being 'kalatravan' (one accompanied by a lady/wife), Hanuman would be forced to fight defensively rather than offensively. Sita emphasizes that bravery alone cannot overcome such a severe handicap in aerial combat.

यहाँ 'एक बनाम अनेक' की स्थिति का चित्रण है। हनुमान जी अकेले होंगे और उनके हाथों में अस्त्र-शस्त्र के बजाय सीता जी होंगी, जबकि राक्षस हथियारों (शूल, मुद्गर) से लैस होंगे। सीता जी कहती हैं कि 'कलत्रवान्' (जिसके साथ स्त्री हो) होने के कारण हनुमान जी खुलकर युद्ध नहीं कर पाएंगे। वे हनुमान जी की वीरता पर शक नहीं कर रहीं, बल्कि परिस्थितियों की विषमता (tactical disadvantage) को रेखांकित कर रही हैं।
