उत्कर्षन्त्यां च रशनां क्रुद्धायां मयि पक्षिणि ।
स्रस्यमाने च वसने ततो दृष्टा त्वया ह्यहम् ।

॥५-३८-१७॥
utkarṣantyāṃ ca raśanāṃ kruddhāyāṃ mayi pakṣiṇi । srasyamāne ca vasane tato dṛṣṭā tvayā hyaham । । ॥5-38-17॥
Translation
"As I was pulling at my girdle, angry at the bird, and as my garment was slipping, I was seen by you."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"उस पक्षी पर क्रोधित होकर जब मैं अपनी करधनी (मेखला) को खींच रही थी और मेरा वस्त्र खिसक रहा था, तब आपने मुझे देखा था।"
English Commentary
This verse depicts a deeply private and candid moment. In her struggle to ward off the crow, Sita's attire became disarrayed. Her attempt to adjust her 'rashana' (girdle) and her visible anger ('kruddhayam') were witnessed by Rama. This is proof of the intimacy between Rama and Sita, where no formalities existed. By recounting this to Hanuman, Sita ensures that Rama will recognize the authenticity of the messenger, as no one else could have known of this specific moment where she was seen in such a state by him alone. It serves to evoke Rama's protective instincts and memories of their private life.

यह श्लोक एक अत्यंत निजी और संवादात्मक क्षण का चित्रण करता है। कौवे को भगाने के प्रयास में सीता जी के वस्त्र अस्त-व्यस्त हो रहे थे। 'रशनां' (करधनी) को संभालने का प्रयास और 'क्रुद्धायां' (क्रोधित होना)—यह सब राम देख रहे थे। यह राम और सीता के बीच की उस अंतरंगता का प्रमाण है जहाँ कोई पर्दा नहीं है। सीता हनुमान को यह बताकर यह सुनिश्चित करना चाहती हैं कि राम को विश्वास हो जाए कि हनुमान ने सीता से ही बात की है, क्योंकि ऐसी अवस्था में राम के अतिरिक्त उन्हें किसी और ने नहीं देखा था। यह स्मृति राम के मन में सीता के प्रति रक्षण और प्रेम के भाव को जगाने के लिए है।
