वायसेन ततस्तेन बलवत्क्लिश्यमानया ।
स मया बोधितः श्रीमान् सुखसुप्तः परन्तपः ।
।
॥५-३८-२४॥
vāyasena tatastena balavatkliśyamānayā । sa mayā bodhitaḥ śrīmān sukhasuptaḥ parantapaḥ । ॥5-38-24॥
Translation
"Being tormented forcefully by that crow, I awakened that glorious one, the scorcher of enemies (Rama), who was sleeping happily."

"उस कौवे द्वारा बलपूर्वक सतायी जाती हुई मैंने, उन श्रीमान (शोभायमान) और शत्रुओं को तपाने वाले (परन्तप) राम को जगाया, जो सुखपूर्वक सो रहे थे।"
English Commentary
Observe Sita's helplessness. She did not wish to wake Rama as he was 'sukhasuptah' (sleeping happily), but being 'balavatklishyamanaya' (forcefully tormented), she was compelled to do so. She uses the epithet 'Parantapa' (scorcher of foes) for Rama, foreshadowing the fate of the enemy (the crow) once Rama awakes. This verse highlights Sita's sacrifice (her hesitation to disturb Rama's rest) and the extremity of her pain.

सीता जी की विवशता देखिए। वे राम को जगाना नहीं चाहती थीं क्योंकि वे 'सुखसुप्तः' (सुख से सोये हुए) थे, लेकिन 'बलवत्क्लिश्यमानया' (बुरी तरह पीड़ित होने के कारण) उन्हें ऐसा करना पड़ा। वे राम के लिए 'परन्तप' (शत्रुतापन) विशेषण का प्रयोग करती हैं, जो संकेत देता है कि जागने के बाद वे उस शत्रु (कौवे) का क्या हाल करेंगे। यह श्लोक सीता के त्याग (राम की नींद न खराब करने की इच्छा) और उनकी पीड़ा की पराकाष्ठा को दिखाता है।
