स मां दृष्ट्वा महाबाहुर्वितुन्नां स्तनयोस्तदा ।
आशीविष इव क्रुद्धः श्वसन् वाक्यमभाषत ।
।
॥५-३८-२५॥
sa māṃ dṛṣṭvā mahābāhurvitunnāṃ stanayostadā । āśīviṣa iva kruddhaḥ shvasan vākyamabhāṣata । ॥5-38-25॥
Translation
"Seeing me then wounded on the breasts, that mighty-armed one became angry like a venomous snake and, hissing (breathing heavily), spoke these words."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"तब उन महाबाहु (राम) ने मुझे स्तनों पर घायल देखा। वे विषैले सर्प (आशीविष) के समान क्रुद्ध हो गए और लंबी सांसें लेते हुए (फुफकारते हुए) बोले।"
English Commentary
Rama transforms from a peaceful husband into a warrior resembling death itself. The epithet 'Mahabahu' (mighty-armed) signifies his power. Seeing Sita's wounds, he becomes 'ashivisha iva' (like a venomous snake). This simile captures the intensity and immediacy of his rage. 'Shvasan' (breathing heavily/hissing) indicates his body was trembling with fury. Sita is reminding Hanuman of what Rama's wrath looks like, so Hanuman can convey to Rama that it is time to unleash that same fury upon Ravana.

राम का रूपांतरण शांत पति से काल-स्वरूप योद्धा में होता है। 'महाबाहु' विशेषण उनकी शक्ति का द्योतक है। सीता के घावों को देखकर वे 'आशीविष इव' (विषधर सांप की तरह) हो गए। यह उपमा उनके क्रोध की तीव्रता और तत्काल प्रतिक्रिया को दर्शाती है। 'श्वसन्' (सांस लेते हुए/फुफकारते हुए) बताता है कि उनका शरीर क्रोध से कांप रहा था। सीता हनुमान को यह याद दिला रही हैं कि राम का क्रोध कैसा दिखता है, ताकि हनुमान राम को बता सकें कि अब उस क्रोध को रावण पर उतारने का समय आ गया है।
