स तं प्रदीप्तं चिक्षेप दर्भं तं वायसं प्रति ।
ततस्तं वायसं दर्भः सो ऽम्बरे ऽनुजगाम ह ।
।
॥५-३८-३१॥
sa taṃ pradīptaṃ cikṣepa darbhaṃ taṃ vāyasaṃ prati । tatastaṃ vāyasaṃ darbhaḥ so 'mbare 'nujagāma ha । ॥5-38-31॥
Translation
"He threw that blazing blade of grass at the crow. Then, that blade followed the crow into the sky."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"उन्होंने उस जलते हुए दर्भ को कौवे की ओर फेंका। तब वह दर्भ आकाश में उस कौवे का पीछा करने लगा।"
English Commentary
The characteristic of the Brahmastra is that it relentlessly pursues its target until impact. The moment Rama threw it ('chikshepa'), Jayanta took to the skies to escape. However, the charged grass blade followed him ('anujagama'). This serves as a metaphor for the law of Karma: one's actions pursue them relentlessly, no matter where they flee. It illustrates the inescapability of divine justice once invoked.

ब्रह्मास्त्र का लक्षण है कि वह लक्ष्य का पीछा तब तक नहीं छोड़ता जब तक उसे नष्ट न कर दे। जैसे ही राम ने उसे छोड़ा ('चिक्षेप'), जयंत जान बचाने के लिए आकाश में भागा। लेकिन वह अभिमंत्रित दर्भ भी उसके पीछे-पीछे ('अनुजगाम') हो लिया। यह दृश्य दर्शाता है कि कर्म का फल मनुष्य का पीछा कभी नहीं छोड़ता, चाहे वह आकाश की ऊँचाइयों में ही क्यों न चला जाए। राम के दंड से भागना असंभव है।
