जानामि त्वां महावीर्यं महोत्साहं महाबलम् ।
अपारपारमक्षमक्षोभ्यं गाम्भीर्यात् सागरोपमम् ।
भर्तारं ससमुद्राया धरण्या वासवोपमम् ।

jānāmi tvāṃ mahāvīryaṃ mahotsāhaṃ mahābalam । apārapāramakṣoḥbyaṃ gāmbhīryāt sāgaropamam । bhartāraṃ sasamudrāyā dharaṇyā vāsavopamam । । ॥5-38-42॥
Translation
I know you to be of great valor, great enthusiasm, and great strength. You are immeasurable and unshakable like the ocean in your profundity. You are the lord of the earth with its oceans, equal to Vasava (Indra).
हिंदी अनुवाद
मैं जानती हूँ कि आप महावीर्यवान, महाउत्साही और महाबलवान हैं। आप सागर के समान अपार और अक्षोभ्य (विचलित न होने वाले) हैं तथा गंभीरता में समुद्र की उपमा वाले हैं। आप समुद्र सहित संपूर्ण पृथ्वी के स्वामी हैं और इंद्र के समान हैं।
English Commentary
Sita clarifies that her grievances do not stem from a doubt in Rama's capability. She heaps epithets upon him, acknowledging his boundless strength, valor, and majesty. Comparing him to the ocean (Sāgaropamam) highlights his depth and unperturbable nature (Akṣobhya). However, this praise carries an undertone of desperation: because he is as powerful as Indra and Lord of the Earth, his absence is all the more inexplicable. If he were weak, his inaction would be understandable. Since he is all-powerful, his delay is agonizing. This verse establishes that she views Rama as the supreme authority, fully capable of altering her fate instantly.

सीता स्पष्ट करती हैं कि उन्हें राम के सामर्थ्य पर रत्ती भर भी संदेह नहीं है। वे राम की स्तुति करती हैं ताकि हनुमान यह न समझें कि सीता राम को कमजोर मानती हैं। 'अक्षोभ्य' और 'गाम्भीर्यात् सागरोपमम्' विशेषण राम के धीर-गंभीर स्वभाव को दर्शाते हैं। किन्तु, यही गंभीरता सीता के लिए कष्ट का कारण भी है, क्योंकि राम अपनी शक्ति का प्रदर्शन तुरंत नहीं कर रहे हैं। वे राम को इंद्र (वासव) के समान बताती हैं, जो देवताओं के राजा हैं, यह इंगित करने के लिए कि रावण जैसे राक्षस को हराना उनके लिए कठिन नहीं होना चाहिए। यह श्लोक पुष्टि करता है कि सीता का प्रश्न राम की 'क्षमता' पर नहीं, बल्कि उनकी 'इच्छा' पर है।
