Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
तस्य वीर्यवतः कश्चिद् यद्यस्ति मयि संभ्रमः ।
किमर्थं न शरैस्तीक्ष्णैः क्षयं नयति राक्षसान् ।
।
॥५-३८-४५॥
tasya vīryavataḥ kaścid yadyasti mayi saṃbhramaḥ । kimarthaṃ na śaraistīkṣṇaiḥ kṣayaṃ nayati rākṣasān । । ॥5-38-45॥
Translation
If that valiant one has any agitation (concern/love) regarding me, why does he not destroy the Rakshasas with his sharp arrows?
हिंदी अनुवाद
यदि उन वीर्यवान (राम) के मन में मेरे प्रति थोड़ा भी संभ्रम (उतावलापन/प्रेम/चिंता) है, तो वे अपने तीखे बाणों से राक्षसों का विनाश क्यों नहीं करते?
English Commentary
The keyword in this verse is saṃbhramaḥ, which in this context denotes urgency, anxiety, or agitation born of love and concern. Sita questions the emotional state of Rama. She posits that if he truly felt a sense of urgency regarding her situation, the natural consequence would be the annihilation of her captors. The lack of action (the Rakshasas still living) causes her to doubt the intensity of his concern. It is a heartbreaking inquiry into whether she still holds enough importance in his heart to trigger his destructive wrath against her enemies.

यहाँ 'संभ्रम' शब्द अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण है। इसका अर्थ यहाँ प्रेम जनित व्यग्रता, चिंता या उतावलापन है। सीता पूछ रही हैं कि क्या राम के मन में अब भी उनके लिए वह तड़प है? यदि है, तो वह उनके कार्यों में क्यों नहीं दिखती? प्रेम की स्वाभाविक प्रतिक्रिया बाधाओं को नष्ट करना होती है। यदि राम राक्षसों का 'क्षय' (विनाश) नहीं कर रहे, तो क्या इसका अर्थ यह है कि उनका प्रेम कम हो गया है? यह श्लोक सीता के मन में उठ रहे गहरे असुरक्षा भाव को प्रकट करता है, जो लंबे वियोग और राम की चुप्पी के कारण उत्पन्न हुआ है।
