ततस्तं प्रस्थितं सीता वीक्षमाणा पुनः पुनः ।
भर्तृस्नेहान्वितं वाक्यं सौहार्दादनुमानयत् ।

tatastaṃ prasthitaṃ sītā vīkṣamāṇā punaḥ punaḥ |
bhartṛsnehānvitaṃ vākyaṃ sauhārdādanumā nayat ॥5-39-19॥
Translation
Then, repeatedly looking at him as he was ready to depart, Sita, filled with affection for her husband and out of friendship (for Hanuman), spoke words of persuasion.

तदनन्तर, प्रस्थान के लिए तैयार हनुमान को बार-बार देखते हुए, सीता ने अपने पति के प्रति स्नेह के कारण (और हनुमान के प्रति) सौहार्दवश अनुनय करते हुए यह वचन कहा।
English Commentary
A deeply touching psychological moment. Sita looks at Hanuman "punah punah" (again and again), betraying her reluctance to let him go. Her isolation is so profound that the departure of the messenger feels like a severing of the connection with Rama. The text clarifies that this sentiment stems from "bhartrisneha" (love for her husband)—she clings to Hanuman because he represents Rama. She speaks out of "sauharda" (friendship/good-heartedness), shifting from a command to a gentle persuasion ("anumanayat").

यहाँ सीता की मनःस्थिति का मार्मिक चित्रण है। 'वीक्षमाणा पुनः पुनः' (बार-बार देखते हुए) दर्शाता है कि वे हनुमान को जाने नहीं देना चाहतीं क्योंकि हनुमान ही एकमात्र कड़ी हैं जो उन्हें राम से जोड़ते हैं। 'भर्तृस्नेहान्वितं' (पति के स्नेह से युक्त) का अर्थ है कि हनुमान को रोकने की इच्छा वास्तव में राम के प्रति उनके प्रेम का ही विस्तार है—हनुमान राम के दूत हैं, इसलिए वे प्रिय हैं।
