मणिं तु दृष्ट्वा रामो वै त्रयाणां संस्मरिष्यति ।
वीरो जनन्या मम च राज्ञो दशरथस्य च ।

maṇiṃ tu dṛṣṭvā rāmo vai trayāṇāṃ saṃsmariṣyati |
vīro jananyā mama ca rājño daśarathasya ca ॥5-39-2॥
Translation
Upon seeing this jewel, the heroic Rama will surely remember three people: my mother, myself, and King Dasharatha.

इस चूड़ामणि को देखकर वीर श्रीराम अवश्य ही तीन व्यक्तियों का स्मरण करेंगे—मेरी माता का, मेरा और राजा दशरथ का।
English Commentary
Sita explains to Hanuman the emotional significance of the Chudamani (crest jewel). It is not merely an ornament but a powerful trigger for memory. Since this jewel was given to Sita by her mother during her wedding in the presence of King Dasharatha, seeing it will remind Rama of that joyous occasion and the familial bonds. By mentioning "three people"—her mother (the giver), herself (the receiver), and Dasharatha (the witness/elder)—she implies that this token will evoke a sense of duty in Rama towards his wife, his ancestors, and his alliance with Janaka’s lineage.

सीता जी हनुमान को यह समझा रही हैं कि यह चूड़ामणि केवल एक आभूषण नहीं है, बल्कि एक अत्यंत भावुक स्मृति चिन्ह है। यह मणि सीता जी की माता ने उनके विवाह के समय दी थी, जिसे राजा दशरथ ने देखा और सराहा था। इसलिए, इसे देखते ही राम को उस विवाह उत्सव, सीता के मायके (माता) और अपने दिवंगत पिता दशरथ की स्मृति हो आएगी। यह 'अभिज्ञान' (पहचान चिन्ह) राम के मन में सीता के प्रति वियोग की अग्नि और प्रेम को तीव्रता से प्रज्वलित करने के लिए पर्याप्त है।
