मद्विशिष्टाश्च तुल्याश्च सन्ति तत्र वनौकसः ।
मत्तः प्रत्यवरः कश्चिन्नास्ति सुग्रीवसन्निधौ ।

॥५-३९-३८॥
Madviśiṣṭāśca tulyāśca santi tatra vanaukasaḥ । Mattaḥ pratyavaraḥ kaścinnāsti sugrīvasannidhau । । ॥5-39-38॥
Translation
There are many Vanaras with Sugriva who are superior to me or equal to me in strength, but there is no one inferior to me in his presence.
हिंदी अनुवाद
सुग्रीव के पास मुझसे भी अधिक विशिष्ट (बलशाली) और मेरे तुल्य बहुत से वानर हैं, किन्तु मुझसे निम्न (कम बल वाला) कोई भी नहीं है।
English Commentary
Hanuman employs profound humility and strategic rhetoric here to boost Mother Sita's confidence. Sita expressed doubt about how the monkey army could cross the ocean if they were not as capable as Hanuman. To dispel this fear, Hanuman claims to be the least among Sugriva's warriors. The logic is compelling: if the "weakest" soldier (as he portrays himself) could breach Lanka's defenses, the superior warriors will find it effortless. This reflects both his lack of ego and his desire to assure Sita of the inevitable victory of Rama’s forces.
हिंदी टीका
हनुमान जी यहाँ माता सीता का आत्मविश्वास बढ़ाने के लिए अत्यंत विनम्रता और चातुर्य का परिचय दे रहे हैं। सीता जी को संदेह था कि यदि हनुमान जैसा वानर ही इतना विशाल समुद्र लांघ पाया है, तो बाकी सेना कैसे आएगी। इस शंका को मिटाने के लिए हनुमान जी कहते हैं कि वे वानर सेना में सबसे साधारण सैनिक हैं। उनका तर्क है कि यदि "सबसे कमजोर" (जैसा वे स्वयं को बता रहे हैं) यहाँ तक आ सकता है, तो सुग्रीव के महारथी और बलशाली योद्धाओं के लिए यह कार्य कितना सरल होगा। यह कथन उनकी निरहंकारिता और अपने स्वामी के पक्ष की प्रबलता को दर्शाता है।
