Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
नखदंष्ट्रायुधान् वीरान् सिंहशार्दूलविक्रमान् ।
वानरान् वारणेन्द्राभान् क्षिप्र द्रक्ष्यसि सङ्गतान् ।

॥५-३९-४९॥
Nakhadaṃṣṭrāyudhān vīrāṇ siṃhaśārdūlavikramān । Vānarān vāraṇendrābhān kṣipra drakṣyasi saṅgatān । ॥5-39-49॥
Translation
You shall soon see the heroic Vanaras gathered here, who use claws and teeth as weapons, possessing the valor of lions and tigers, and resembling lordly elephants.
हिंदी अनुवाद
आप शीघ्र ही नख (नाखून) और दाँतों को ही आयुध (हथियार) बनने वाले, सिंह और बाघ के समान पराक्रमी, तथा गजराजों (विशाल हाथियों) के समान आभा वाले वीर वानरों को (यहाँ) एकत्र देखेंगी।
English Commentary
Hanuman vividly describes the unique nature of the Vanara army. They are "nakhadamshtrayudhan" (weaponized with claws and teeth), highlighting their primal, ferocious fighting style distinct from the Rakshasas' sophisticated weaponry. Comparing them to lions, tigers, and elephants ("varanendrabhan") emphasizes their sheer physical dominance, size, and courage. He assures Sita that these formidable warriors will soon be "sangatan" (gathered/assembled) in Lanka, ready to overrun her captors.

हनुमान जी अपनी सेना का परिचय देते हैं। वानर सेना परम्परागत हथियार नहीं रखती, उनके नख और दाँत ही उनके शस्त्र हैं, जो उनके नैसर्गिक वनवासी स्वरूप को दर्शाता है। उनकी तुलना सिंह, बाघ और हाथियों से करके हनुमान यह बताते हैं कि भले ही वे वानर हैं, परन्तु उनका बल और आकार जंगली हिंसक पशुओं और विशाल हाथियों जैसा है। यह वर्णन सीता जी को यह विश्वास दिलाने के लिए है कि यह सेना राक्षसों का मुकाबला करने में पूर्णतः सक्षम है।
