ज्ञत्वा संप्रस्थितं देवी वानरं मारुतात्मजम् ।
बाष्पगद्गदया वाचा मैथिली वाक्यमब्रवीत् ।

jñātvā samprasthitaṃ devī vānaraṃ mārutātmajam |
bāṣpagadgadayā vācā maithilī vākyamabravīt ॥5-39-6॥
Translation
Realizing that the monkey, the son of the wind, was ready to depart, the noble lady Maithili spoke words with a voice choked with tears.

उस वानर, वायुपुत्र को प्रस्थान के लिए उद्यत जानकर, देवी मैथिली (सीता) ने आंसुओं से रुंधे हुए कंठ से ये वचन कहे।
English Commentary
This verse captures the intense emotional vulnerability of Sita. Even though Hanuman's departure is necessary to fetch Rama, his presence was her only solace in the hostile environment of Lanka. Seeing him leave triggers a fear of returning to absolute isolation. The phrase "bashpagadgadaya vaca" (voice choked with tears) illustrates that despite her strength, the separation from her newfound son/friend is deeply painful. It humanizes Sita's character amidst the divine narrative.

यद्यपि हनुमान का जाना सीता के उद्धार के लिए आवश्यक है, फिर भी विदाई का यह क्षण सीता के लिए अत्यंत कष्टदायक है। लंका में महीनों बाद उन्हें कोई अपना, कोई शुभचिंतक मिला था। अब उस एकमात्र सहारे के जाने से उन्हें पुनः अकेलेपन और असुरक्षा का भय सता रहा है। 'बाष्पगद्गदया' (आंसुओं से गदगद कंठ) शब्द उनकी मानवीय भावनाओं और विरह की पीड़ा को जीवंत कर देता है।
