कुशलं हनुमन् ब्रूयाः सहितौ रामलक्ष्मणौ ।

kuśalaṃ hanuman brūyāḥ sahitau rāmalakṣmaṇau ॥5-39-7॥
Translation
(Sita said:) O Hanuman! Please inquire about the welfare of both Rama and Lakshmana together.
हिंदी अनुवाद
(सीता ने कहा:) हे हनुमान! मेरी ओर से राम और लक्ष्मण, दोनों का एक साथ कुशल-क्षेम पूछना।
English Commentary
Despite her emotional distress described in the previous verse, Sita adheres to the dharma of proper conduct by first inquiring about the welfare ("kushalam") of her husband and brother-in-law. The word "sahitau" (together) is significant; it acknowledges the inseparable bond between Rama and Lakshmana. She recognizes that Lakshmana is sharing Rama's grief and hardships, and thus includes him equally in her primary inquiry.

शोक और आंसुओं में डूबे होने के बावजूद, सीता अपनी मर्यादा और कर्तव्य नहीं भूलतीं। भारतीय संस्कृति में बड़ों या प्रियजनों को संदेश भेजते समय सबसे पहले 'कुशल' (क्षेम) पूछना शिष्टाचार है। यहाँ 'सहितौ' (दोनों एक साथ) शब्द महत्वपूर्ण है; सीता जानती हैं कि लक्ष्मण राम की छाया की तरह हैं और राम के दुख में लक्ष्मण भी समान रूप से भागीदार हैं, इसलिए वे दोनों का कुशल साथ में पूछती हैं।
