रथैः यानैः विमानैः च तथा गज हयैः शुभैः ।
वारणैः च चतुः दन्तैः श्वेत अभ्र निचय उपमैः ॥५-४-२७॥
rathaiḥ yānaiḥ vimānaiḥ ca tathā gaja hayaiḥ śubhaiḥ |
vāraṇaiḥ ca catuḥ dantaiḥ śveta abhra nicaya upamaiḥ ॥5-4-27॥
Translation
That place was filled with chariots, palanquins, and aerial cars (Vimanas), as well as auspicious elephants and horses. There were also four-tusked elephants that resembled heaps of white clouds.

वह स्थान रथों, पालकियों और विमानों से तथा शुभ हाथियों और घोड़ों से भरा था। वहां श्वेत बादलों के समूह के समान प्रतीत होने वाले चार दांतों वाले हाथी भी थे।
English Commentary
The mention of 'vimānaiḥ' (aerial cars) and 'catuḥ dantaiḥ vāraṇaiḥ' (four-tusked elephants) is historically and mythologically pivotal. Four-tusked elephants are associated with the lineage of Airavata, the mount of Indra. Their presence in Ravana's stables is a trophy of war, symbolizing his domination over the King of Gods. The Vimanas suggest advanced aerial capability, far superior to ordinary human kingdoms. Comparing the elephants to 'heaps of white clouds' highlights their massive size and celestial pedigree. This verse serves as physical evidence of Ravana's cosmic conquests. Hanuman is witnessing not just wealth, but the accumulated spoils of the three worlds, confirming the magnitude of the enemy he is up against.

इस श्लोक में 'विमानैः' और 'चतुः दन्तैः वारणैः' (चार दांतों वाले हाथी) का उल्लेख अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण है। चार दांतों वाले हाथी ऐरावत कुल के माने जाते हैं, जो केवल इंद्र के पास होते थे। इनका रावण के महल में होना यह सिद्ध करता है कि रावण ने इंद्र पर विजय प्राप्त की थी और देवताओं की संपत्ति का अपहरण किया था। 'विमान' उस युग की उन्नत तकनीकी या जादुई वाहनों का संकेत देते हैं। श्वेत बादलों से हाथियों की उपमा उनकी विशालता और उज्जवल वर्ण को दर्शाती है। यह श्लोक रावण के 'विश्व-विजेता' होने के दावे को पुष्ट करता है। हनुमान जी शत्रु की इस असीम संपत्ति और शक्ति के प्रमाण को प्रत्यक्ष देख रहे हैं।
