सा ऽब्रवीद्दत्तमेवेति मया ऽभिज्ञानमुत्तमम् ।
एतदेव हि रामस्य दृष्ट्वा मत्केशभूषणम् ।
श्रद्धेयं हनुमन् वाक्यं तव वीर भविष्यति ।

sā 'bravīddattameveti mayā 'bhijñānamuttamam |
etadeva hi rāmasya dṛṣṭvā matkeśabhūṣaṇam |
śraddheyaṃ hanuman vākyaṃ tava vīra bhaviṣyati ॥5-40-18॥
Translation
She replied, "I have indeed already given the best token of recognition. O hero Hanuman, seeing this very hair-ornament of mine, your words will become credible to Rama."
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब सीता ने कहा—"मैंने वह उत्तम अभिज्ञान (चूड़ामणि) तो दे ही दिया है। हे वीर हनुमान! मेरे इस केश-आभूषण को देखकर ही राम को तुम्हारे वचनों पर पूर्ण विश्वास (श्रद्धा) हो जाएगा।"
English Commentary
Sita clarifies that the Cūḍāmaṇi she surrendered (referenced in verse 8) is the ultimate proof (abhijñānamuttamam). She assures Hanuman that nothing more is required. She explains that the sight of this personal item (matkeśabhūṣaṇam) will instinctively validate Hanuman's credibility (śraddheyaṃ) to Rama. By calling Hanuman vīra (hero), she expresses confidence in his capacity to deliver this token safely. This verse concludes the transaction of the token, affirming that the emotional weight of the jewel is sufficient to spur Rama into action.

सीता जी हनुमान की शंका का समाधान करती हैं कि जो चूड़ामणि उन्होंने दी है, वही सर्वोत्तम प्रमाण ('अभिज्ञानमुत्तमम्') है। 'दत्तमेव' (दिया ही जा चुका है) से स्पष्ट है कि वे इसे ही पर्याप्त मानती हैं। यह मणि राम के लिए अत्यंत भावुक वस्तु है। सीता जी कहती हैं कि इसे देखते ही राम को हनुमान की सत्यता पर विश्वास ('श्रद्धेयं') हो जाएगा। 'वीर' शब्द से वे हनुमान के पराक्रम और उनकी भूमिका का सम्मान करती हैं। यह श्लोक यह स्थापित करता है कि भौतिक प्रमाण (मणि) और वाचिक सन्देश (कौवे की कथा) मिलकर पूर्ण अभिज्ञान बनाते हैं।
