स तं मणिवरं गृह्य श्रीमान् प्लवगसत्तमः ।
प्रणम्य शिरसा देवीं गमनायोपचक्रमे ।

sa taṃ maṇivaraṃ gṛhya śrīmān plavagasattamaḥ |
praṇamya śirasā devīṃ gamanāyopacakrame ॥5-40-19॥
Translation
Taking that excellent gem, the glorious one, best among the monkeys, bowed his head to the Devi and prepared to depart.

तब शोभाशाली, वानरों में श्रेष्ठ (हनुमान) ने उस श्रेष्ठ मणि को लेकर, देवी (सीता) को सिर झुकाकर प्रणाम किया और जाने की तैयारी (उपक्रम) की।
English Commentary
Hanuman prepares for his return journey. Taking custody of the maṇivaraṃ (excellent jewel), he performs the formal salutation (praṇamya śirasā) to Sita. The epithets śrīmān (glorious/endowed with grace) and plavagasattamaḥ (best of leaping monkeys) highlight his status as the successful executor of the mission. The action gamanāyopacakrame (began to prepare for departure) indicates a shift in the narrative from dialogue to action. He has fulfilled the objective of his infiltration and is now ready to report back.

यह श्लोक हनुमान जी की प्रस्थान की तैयारी का वर्णन करता है। उन्होंने मणि को सुरक्षित रख लिया ('गृह्य')। उन्हें 'प्लवगसत्तमः' (वानरों में श्रेष्ठ) कहा गया है, जो उनकी सफलता को इंगित करता है। 'प्रणम्य शिरसा' (सिर से प्रणाम करना) उनकी विनम्रता और सीता के प्रति अगाध श्रद्धा को दर्शाता है। कार्य पूर्ण होने पर विनम्रता और बढ़ जाती है। 'गमनायोपचक्रमे' का अर्थ है कि उन्होंने लौटने की शारीरिक और मानसिक तैयारी शुरू कर दी। यह विदाई का क्षण है।
