इमं च तीव्रं मम शोकवेगं रक्षोभिरेभिः परिभर्त्सनं च ।
ब्रूयास्तु रामस्य गतः समीपं शिवश्च ते ऽध्वा ऽस्तु हरिप्रवीर ।

imaṃ ca tīvraṃ mama śokavegaṃ rakṣobhirebhiḥ paribhartsanaṃ ca |
brūyāstu rāmasya gataḥ samīpaṃ śivaśca te 'dhvā 'stu haripravīra ॥5-40-24॥
Translation
Having gone to Rama's presence, tell him of this intense rush of my grief and the threats/rebukes by these Rakshasas. O hero among Vanaras, may your path be auspicious.
हिंदी अनुवाद
राम के समीप जाकर तुम मेरे इस तीव्र शोक के वेग को और इन राक्षसों द्वारा दी जा रही धमकियों (तर्जना) को बताना। हे वानरवीर! तुम्हारा मार्ग मंगलमय हो (कल्याणकारी हो)।
English Commentary
In her final directive, Sita summarizes the content of the message: convey the internal agony (śokavegaṃ) and the external torture (paribhartsanaṃ - rebukes/threats by Rakshasas). This dual report aims to trigger Rama's protective instincts. She concludes with a traditional blessing for a traveler: śivaśca te 'dhvā 'stu (May your path be auspicious/safe). Addressing him as haripravīra (foremost hero of monkeys), she acknowledges the dangers of his return journey and offers her spiritual protection. This farewell encapsulates her dependence on him and her desperate hope for the mission's success.

यह इस सर्ग का अंतिम श्लोक (या विदाई का वचन) है। सीता जी दो मुख्य बातें राम को बताने के लिए कहती हैं: उनका 'शोकवेग' (दुःख की तीव्रता) और 'परिभर्त्सनं' (राक्षसों द्वारा दी जा रही गालियाँ और धमकियाँ)। यह राम को क्रोध और करुणा दोनों से भरने के लिए पर्याप्त है। अंत में, एक माँ और हितैषी की भांति वे हनुमान को आशीर्वाद देती हैं—'शिवश्च ते ऽध्वा ऽस्तु' (तुम्हारा रास्ता कल्याणकारी/सुरक्षित हो)। यह शत्रु की नगरी से निकल रहे एक दूत के लिए सबसे आवश्यक आशीर्वाद है। यहाँ करुण रस और वीर रस का मिलन होता है।
