वैदेह्या वचनं श्रुत्वा राक्षस्यो विद्रुता दिशः ।
स्थिताः काश्चिद्गताः काश्चिद्रावणाय निवेदितुम् ।
।
॥५-४२-११॥
Vaidehyā vacanaṃ śrutvā rākṣasyo vidrutā diśaḥ |
Sthitāḥ kāścidgatāḥ kāścidrāvaṇāya niveditum ॥5-42-11॥
Translation
Hearing the words of Vaidehi, the Rakshasis fled in different directions. Some remained there (to guard), while others went to inform Ravana.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वैदेही (सीता) के वचन सुनकर राक्षसियाँ दिशाओं में (इधर-उधर) भाग गईं। कुछ वहीं रुक गईं (सीता की पहरेदारी के लिए) और कुछ रावण को निवेदन करने (समाचार देने) के लिए चली गईं।
English Commentary
Sita’s evasive answers combined with Hanuman’s terrifying form cause chaos among the guards. The group splits: the brave (or perhaps the paralyzed) stay back (sthitāḥ), while the proactive ones run to the chain of command (rāvaṇāya niveditum). This action initiates the next phase of the Sundarakanda, moving the conflict from the garden to the royal court of Ravana.

सीता जी के उत्तर से संतुष्ट न होने पर भी भय के कारण राक्षसियों में भगदड़ मच गई। 'विद्रुता दिशः' दिखाता है कि संगठन और अनुशासन टूट चुका था। वे दो दलों में बँट गईं—कुछ कर्तव्य की भावना से या भय से वहीं रुक गईं, और कुछ रावण को सूचित करने भागीं। यह स्थिति हनुमान जी की योजना की सफलता को दर्शाती है—उन्होंने लंका की व्यवस्था में हलचल मचा दी है।
