तेषामशीतिसाहस्रं किङ्कराणां तरस्विनाम् ।

Teṣāmaśītisāhasraṃ kiṅkarāṇāṃ tarasvinām ॥5-42-25॥
Translation
(He ordered) eighty thousand of those swift Kinkaras.
हिंदी अनुवाद
(उसने) उन वेगवान् अस्सी हजार किंकर राक्षसों को (आदेश दिया)। [यह श्लोक का आधा भाग है जो संख्या बताता है।]
English Commentary
The sheer scale of the force deployed—aśītisāhasram (eighty thousand)—against a single intruder underscores the perceived magnitude of the threat. It also reflects Ravana's style: overwhelming force to crush opposition instantly. The adjective tarasvinām (swift/energetic) ensures that this is a rapid response force, intended to swarm and overpower Hanuman before he can cause further damage.

यहाँ संख्याबल का प्रदर्शन है—'अशीतिसाहस्रं' (अस्सी हजार)। एक अकेले वानर के लिए अस्सी हजार योद्धाओं को भेजना रावण के क्रोध की अधिकता और हनुमान जी के द्वारा मचाए गए आतंक के स्तर को दर्शाता है। 'तरस्विनाम्' (वेगवान्) शब्द बताता है कि वे सुस्त नहीं, बल्कि फुर्तीले योद्धा थे। यह युद्ध 'एक बनाम अनेक' (One vs. Many) का क्लासिक उदाहरण बनने जा रहा है।
