अर्दयित्वा पुरीं लङ्कामभिवाद्य च मैथिलीम् ।
समृद्धार्थो गमिष्टामि मिषतां सर्वरक्षसाम् ।
।

Ardayitvā purīṃ laṅkāmabhivādya ca maithilīm । Samṛddhārtho gamiṣyāmi miṣatāṃ sarvarakṣasām । । ॥5-42-36॥
Translation
"After destroying the city of Lanka and offering salutations to Maithili (Sita), having accomplished my purpose, I shall depart while all the Rakshasas look on helplessly."

"लंका पुरी का विध्वंस करके और मैथिली (सीता) को प्रणाम करके, अपना कार्य सिद्ध कर, मैं सभी राक्षसों के देखते-देखते यहाँ से चला जाऊँगा।"
English Commentary
This verse serves as the concluding declaration of his mission objectives. Hanuman outlines his agenda clearly: devastation of the city (ardayitvā), paying respects to Sita (abhivādya ca maithilīm), and departing with his mission accomplished (samṛddhārtho). The sting is in the tail of the verse: miṣatāṃ sarvarakṣasām—"while all the Rakshasas look on." The word miṣatāṃ implies watching helplessly or gazing in vain. He is telling them that despite their numbers and weapons, they will be reduced to mere spectators of his triumph. It represents the ultimate humiliation for the Rakshasa army—that a lone monkey will execute his will and leave right before their eyes, and they will be powerless to stop him.

यह 'जयघोष' का अंतिम चरण है, जहाँ हनुमान जी अपनी भावी योजना (Action Plan) स्पष्ट करते हैं। उनके तीन लक्ष्य हैं: 1. लंका का मर्दन (अर्दयित्वा), 2. माता सीता का दर्शन और प्रणाम (अभिवाद्य च मैथिलीम्), और 3. सुरक्षित वापसी। 'समृद्धार्थो' का अर्थ है 'कृतार्थ होकर' या 'सफल मनोरथ होकर'। सबसे बड़ी चुनौती अंतिम पंक्ति में है: 'मिषतां सर्वरक्षसाम्'—अर्थात् तुम सब आँख फाड़कर देखते रह जाओगे और मैं चला जाऊँगा। यह राक्षसों की नपुंसकता और असहायता पर सीधा कटाक्ष है। यह केवल भागने की बात नहीं है, बल्कि विजय प्राप्त करके, शत्रु के सामने से सीना तानकर जाने की घोषणा है। यह श्लोक वाल्मीकि रामायण में हनुमान जी के चरित्र की निडरता का स्वर्णिम उदाहरण है।
