स हत्वा राक्षसान् वीरान् किङ्करान् मारुतात्मजः ।
युद्धाकाङ्क्षी पुनर्वीरस्तोरणं समुपाश्रितः ।
।
॥५-४२-४१॥
Sa hatvā rākṣasān vīrān kiṅkarān mārutātmajaḥ । Yuddhākāṅkṣī punarvīrastoraṇaṃ samupāśritaḥ । । ॥5-42-41॥
Translation
Having killed those brave Kinkara demons, the heroic son of the Wind-god, desiring more battle, positioned himself on the archway once again.

उन वीर किंकर राक्षसों को मारकर, वायुपुत्र वीर हनुमान पुनः युद्ध की आकांक्षा करते हुए उसी तोरण पर आ बैठे।
English Commentary
This verse marks the conclusion of the first skirmish and the beginning of the waiting game. The phrase yuddhākāṅkṣī (desirous of battle) is key to understanding Hanuman's psychology here. He is not fighting for survival; he is fighting to provoke. By returning to the exact same spot (toraṇaṃ samupāśritaḥ), he sends a message to Ravana: "I am still here, and I am waiting for whoever you send next." This stance transforms the archway from a mere architectural feature into a throne of defiance.

अस्सी हजार किङ्कर राक्षसों का वध करने के बाद भी हनुमान जी को न तो थकान है और न ही वे भागने का प्रयास कर रहे हैं। इसके विपरीत, वे 'युद्धाकाङ्क्षी' (युद्ध की इच्छा रखने वाले) हैं। वे पुनः उसी 'तोरण' पर जाकर बैठ गए, जो एक खुली चुनौती है। यह उनकी मानसिक दृढ़ता और निर्भीकता का प्रमाण है। वे छिपकर वार नहीं करते, बल्कि शत्रु को संभलने और अगली सेना भेजने का अवसर देते हैं। यह व्यवहार एक सामान्य गुप्तचर का नहीं, बल्कि एक ऐसे दूत का है जो शत्रु के राज्य में अपने स्वामी की शक्ति का डंका बजाने आया है।
