Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
वनं भग्नं मया चैत्यप्रसादो न विनाशितः ।
तस्मात् प्रासादमप्येव भीमं विध्वंसयाम्यहम् ।
इति ऽञ्चिन्त्य मनसा हनुमान् दर्शयन् बलम् ।

॥५-४३-१॥
Vanaṃ bhagnaṃ mayā caityaprasādo na vināśitaḥ । Tasmāt prasādamapyeva bhīmaṃ vidhvaṃsayāmyaham । Iti 'ñcintya manasā hanumān darśayan balam । । ॥5-43-1॥
Translation
"I have destroyed the forest, but I have not destroyed the Chaityaprasada (sanctuary). Therefore, I shall destroy this terrible palace as well." Thinking thus in his mind, Hanuman began to display his strength. (Note: Here begins a new episode where Hanuman targets the religious/structural symbol of Lanka.)

"मैंने अशोक वन तो उजाड़ दिया, किन्तु यह चैत्यप्रासाद (मंदिर/देवस्थान) नष्ट नहीं किया। इसलिए अब मैं इस भयानक प्रासाद को भी विध्वंस करूँगा।" मन में ऐसा विचार कर हनुमान अपना बल दिखाने लगे।
English Commentary
This verse marks a shift in targets. Having destroyed the natural resource (the Ashoka grove) and the initial military response (the Kinkaras), Hanuman sets his sights on the Chaityaprasada. This is likely a temple or a sanctuary, representing the spiritual or architectural pride of the Rakshasas. The logic is clear: total demoralization. By deciding to destroy the Bhīmaṃ prasādam (terrible/imposing palace), Hanuman intends to strike at the heart of the city's infrastructure. Darśayan balam (displaying his strength) confirms that this is a calculated show of force designed to provoke the highest authorities of Lanka.

किंकरों के वध के बाद, हनुमान जी की दृष्टि अब 'चैत्यप्रासाद' पर पड़ती है। यह लंका के इष्टदेव का स्थान या कोई महत्वपूर्ण स्मारक हो सकता है। 'वनं भग्नं' (वन तो तोड़ दिया) के बाद वे सोचते हैं कि शत्रु के मनोबल को पूरी तरह तोड़ने के लिए उनके धार्मिक और सांस्कृतिक प्रतीकों पर प्रहार आवश्यक है। 'दर्शयन् बलम्' (बल दिखाते हुए) का अर्थ है कि यह विनाश केवल क्रोध में नहीं, बल्कि शक्ति प्रदर्शन के उद्देश्य से किया जा रहा है। यह एक रणनीतिक निर्णय है—राक्षसों को यह संदेश देना कि लंका का कोई भी कोना, चाहे वह कितना ही पवित्र या सुरक्षित क्यों न हो, उनके प्रहार से नहीं बच सकता।
