Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
मादृशानां सहस्राणि विसृष्टानि महात्मनाम् ।
बलिनां वानरेन्द्राणां सुग्रीववशवर्तिनाम् ।
।

Mādṛśānāṃ sahasrāṇi visṛṣṭāni mahātmanām । Balināṃ vānarendrāṇāṃ sugrīvavaśavartinām । । ॥5-43-19॥
Translation
"Thousands of great-souled, mighty monkey chiefs, who are under the command of Sugriva and who are just like me, have been sent out."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"मेरे जैसे (मादृशानां) हजारों महात्मा, बलवान और वानरश्रेष्ठ, जो सुग्रीव के वश में (आदेशानुसार) चलने वाले हैं, (पृथ्वी पर) भेजे जा चुके हैं।"
English Commentary
This is a masterstroke of psychological warfare. Hanuman minimizes his own uniqueness to maximize the threat. He claims there are sahasrāni (thousands) just like him (mādṛśānāṃ). He describes them as mahātmanām (great-souled) and balināṃ (mighty), all obedient to King Sugriva (sugrīvavaśavartinām). By asserting that he is merely a standard soldier in Sugriva's army, he implies that the destruction Lanka has witnessed today is just a small sample of the total annihilation that is coming. He turns their fear of him into a fear of the impending invasion.

अब हनुमान जी 'Information Warfare' (सूचना युद्ध) का प्रयोग कर रहे हैं। वे राक्षसों को बताते हैं कि वे अकेले नहीं हैं, और न ही वे सबसे शक्तिशाली हैं। 'मादृशानां' (मेरे जैसे) और 'सहस्राणि' (हजारों)—ये शब्द राक्षसों का मनोबल तोड़ने के लिए पर्याप्त हैं। यदि एक हनुमान ने इतना विनाश किया, तो हजारों हनुमान क्या करेंगे? वे यह भी स्पष्ट करते हैं कि यह एक संगठित सेना है जो 'सुग्रीववशवर्तिनाम्' (सुग्रीव के अनुशासन में) है। यह लंका को चेतावनी है कि यह केवल एक वानर का उत्पात नहीं, बल्कि एक सुनियोजित महायुद्ध का शंखनाद है।
