Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
स भूत्वा सुमहाकायः प्रभावान्मारुतात्मजः ।
धृष्टमास्फोटयामास लङ्कां शब्देन पूरयन् ।
॥५-४३-६॥
Sa bhūtvā sumahākāyaḥ prabhāvānmārutātmajaḥ । Dhṛṣṭamāsphoṭayāmāsa laṅkāṃ śabdena pūrayan । ॥5-43-6॥
Translation
Assuming a gigantic body, the powerful son of the Wind-god fearlessly clapped his arms (roared), filling Lanka with the sound.
हिंदी अनुवाद
अत्यंत विशाल शरीर धारण कर, प्रभावशाली वायुपुत्र ने लंका को शब्द से भरते हुए पुनः निर्भीकतापूर्वक आस्फोटन (ताल ठोकना/गर्जना) किया।
English Commentary
While similar to the verse in the previous canto, the context amplifies the action. Now positioned atop the highest structure, Hanuman expands his form (sumahākāyaḥ) again. The Asphotana—the warrior's clap—resounds from a higher vantage point, effectively covering the entire city (laṅkāṃ śabdena pūrayan). It is a re-assertion of his challenge. He acts dhṛṣṭam—boldly, audaciously. He is making sure that every citizen of Lanka knows that the destroyer of the Ashoka Van is now dismantling their temples and is far from defeated.

यह श्लोक पिछले सर्ग की घटना (श्लोक 31) की पुनरावृत्ति प्रतीत होता है, किन्तु यह नए संदर्भ में है—अब वे चैत्यप्रासाद के ऊपर हैं। ऊँचाई पर होने के कारण उनकी ध्वनि का प्रसार और अधिक हुआ होगा। 'प्रभावान्' (प्रभावशाली) शब्द उनकी 'सिद्ध' अवस्था को दर्शाता है। 'धृष्टम्' (ढीठता/निर्भयता) के साथ उन्होंने फिर से लंका को अपनी गर्जना से भर दिया। यह मनोवैज्ञानिक युद्ध का अगला चरण है। पहले उन्होंने अशोक वाटिका में गर्जना की थी, अब वे नगर के प्रमुख भवन के ऊपर से गर्जना कर रहे हैं, जो सीधे रावण के महल तक गूँज रही है।
