न रावणसहस्रं मे युद्धे प्रतिबलं भवेत् ।
शिलाभिस्तु प्रहरतः पादपैश्च सहस्रशः ।
।
॥५-४३-९॥
Na rāvaṇasahasraṃ me yuddhe pratibalaṃ bhavet । Śilābhistu praharataḥ pādapaiśca sahasraśaḥ । । ॥5-43-9॥
Translation
"Even a thousand Ravanas would not be a match for me in battle, when I strike with thousands of rocks and trees."

"हजारों रावण भी युद्ध में मेरे समान बलशाली नहीं हो सकते, जब मैं हजारों शिलाओं और वृक्षों से प्रहार कर रहा होऊँ।"
English Commentary
Repeating this challenge atop the Chaitya is significant. The Chaitya likely represents the religious or cultural authority of the Rakshasas. Standing there and declaring that a "thousand Ravanas" are insignificant desacralizes the image of Ravana in the very heart of his dominion. Hanuman effectively states that Ravana is not a unique, god-like entity, but a measurable unit of power that Hanuman can multiply and surpass effortlessly using the raw materials of nature (rocks and trees).

यह चुनौती पुनः दी गई है। रावण, जिसे तीनों लोकों में अजेय माना जाता है, उसकी शक्ति को हनुमान जी 'संख्या' (numbers) में तौलकर तुच्छ बना देते हैं। 'रावणसहस्रं' (हजार रावण)—यह वाक्यांश लंका निवासियों के लिए ईश-निंदा (blasphemy) जैसा है, क्योंकि वे रावण को ईश्वर तुल्य मानते हैं। हनुमान जी स्पष्ट करते हैं कि उनकी युद्ध शैली—शिला और पादप (वृक्ष)—प्रकृति की शक्ति है, जिसके सामने रावण के कृत्रिम अस्त्र टिक नहीं सकते। चैत्यप्रासाद जैसे महत्वपूर्ण स्थान से यह घोषणा रावण की सत्ता को सीधी चुनौती है।
