स रोषसंवर्तितताम्रलोचनः प्रहस्तपुत्रे निहते महाबले ।
अमात्यपुत्रानतिवीर्यविक्रमान् समादिदेशाशु निशाचरेश्वरः ।

Sa roṣasaṃvartitatāmralocanaḥ Prahastaputre nihate mahābale . Amātyaputrānativīryavikramān samādideśāśu niśācareśvaraḥ .. ॥5-44-20॥
Translation
Upon the death of the mighty son of Prahasta, the Lord of Night-Rangers (Ravana), with copper-red eyes rolling in anger, immediately ordered the sons of his ministers, who were of exceeding valor and prowess, to set out.
हिंदी अनुवाद
महाबली प्रहस्त-पुत्र (जम्बुमाली) के मारे जाने पर, निशाचरराज रावण ने क्रोध से अपनी लाल आँखें घुमाते हुए, अत्यंत पराक्रमी और वीर अमात्य-पुत्रों (मंत्रियों के पुत्रों) को शीघ्र जाने का आदेश दिया।
English Commentary
Ravana’s reaction marks a significant escalation in the conflict. The visual imagery of his eyes—tāmra (copper-red) and saṃvartita (rolling)—conveys untamed fury. The loss of Jambumali, a high-ranking commander’s son, forces Ravana to deploy the "sons of ministers" (amātyaputrān). This represents a shift from sending individual duelists to deploying a tactical squad. By sending warriors described as ativīryavikramān (of exceeding valor), Ravana acknowledges that the intruder is a formidable threat requiring a coordinated, high-level response rather than lone champions.
