तलेनाभ्यहनत् कांश्चित् पादैः कांश्चित् परन्तपः ।
मुष्टिना ऽभ्यहनत् कांश्चिन्नखैः कांश्चिद् व्यदारयत् ।
।
॥५-४५-१२॥
Talenābhyahanat kāṃścit pādaiḥ kāṃścit parantapaḥ । Muṣṭinā 'bhyahanat kāṃścinnakhaiḥ kāṃścid vyadārayat । । ॥5-45-12॥
Translation
That scorcher of enemies (Hanuman) struck some with his palms, some with his feet, some with his fists, and tore others apart with his nails.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उन शत्रु-तापन हनुमान जी ने कुछ राक्षसों को थप्पड़ से मारा, कुछ को लातों से, कुछ को मुक्कों से मारा और कुछ को अपने नखों से चीर डाला।
English Commentary
This verse highlights the raw, physical power of Hanuman as he engages in close-quarters combat. The epithet Parantapa (scorcher of enemies) is used to denote his dominance on the battlefield. Without conventional weapons like swords or maces, Hanuman transforms his own body into a lethal arsenal. यहाँ हनुमान जी के युद्ध कौशल और उनके शरीर की वज्रतुल्य कठोरता का अद्भुत वर्णन है। 'परन्तप' विशेषण का प्रयोग सिद्ध करता है कि वे शत्रुओं को संताप देने में कितने सक्षम हैं। चूँकि हनुमान जी के पास इस समय कोई कृत्रिम अस्त्र-शस्त्र नहीं हैं, वे अपने अंगों का ही प्रयोग आयुध की भांति कर रहे हैं। कवि वाल्मीकि दिखाते हैं कि एक वानर योद्धा के लिए उसके हाथ, पैर, मुट्ठी और नख ही सबसे घातक हथियार हैं। यह वर्णन युद्ध की भीषणता और हनुमान जी के रौद्र रूप को दर्शाता है, जहाँ वे एक ही समय में विभिन्न प्रकार के प्रहारों से शत्रु सेना का संहार कर रहे हैं। यह उनके शारीरिक बल और युद्ध में उनकी निपुणता का परिचायक है।
