अवकीर्णस्ततस्ताभिर्हनुमाञ्छरवृष्टिभिः ।
अभवत् संवृताकारः शैलराडिव वृष्टिभिः ।

Avakīrṇastatastābhirhanumāñcharavṛṣṭibhiḥ . Abhavat saṃvṛtākāraḥ śailarāḍiva vṛṣṭibhiḥ .. ॥5-45-8॥
Translation
Then, covered by those showers of arrows, Hanuman appeared completely shrouded, like the King of Mountains covered by heavy rains.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब उन बाण-वर्षाओं से ढके हुए हनुमान जी का आकार ऐसा हो गया, जैसे वर्षा की धाराओं से ढका हुआ कोई पर्वतराज हो।
English Commentary
Hanuman absorbs the attack with the stoicism of a mountain. The simile śailarāḍiva (like the King of Mountains) is powerful. Just as a mountain remains unmoved and largely unaffected even when shrouded in torrential rain, Hanuman remains steadfast under the barrage of arrows. The term saṃvṛtākāraḥ (form completely covered) indicates the intensity of the attack—he is visibly blanketed by arrows—but the mountain comparison assures us of his invulnerability and steadfastness against this "storm."
हिंदी टीका
हनुमान जी की सहनशक्ति और स्थिरता की उपमा 'शैलराडिव' (पर्वतराज, हिमालय या सुमेरु के समान) से दी गई है। जैसे मूसलाधार वर्षा पर्वत को ढक तो सकती है पर उसे हिला नहीं सकती, वैसे ही बाणों ने हनुमान जी को 'संवृताकारः' (ढक लिया) कर दिया, परन्तु वे विचलित नहीं हुए। यह उपमा हनुमान जी के विशाल शरीर और उनके अचल धैर्य दोनों को दर्शाती है। यह दृश्य शत्रु के मन में निराशा उत्पन्न करने वाला है—कि इतना प्रहार करने पर भी लक्ष्य अडिग है।
