Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
कामं लोकास्त्रयः सेन्द्राः ससुरासुरमानवाः ।
भवतामग्रतः स्थातुं न पर्याप्ता रणाजिरे ।
।
॥५-४६-१३॥
Kāmaṃ lokāstrayaḥ sendrāḥ sasurāsuramānavāḥ । Bhavatāmagrataḥ sthātuṃ na paryāptā raṇājire । । ॥5-46-13॥
Translation
Granted/Admittedly, the three worlds including Indra, along with gods, demons, and humans, are not capable of standing before you on the battlefield.
हिंदी अनुवाद
यद्यपि इन्द्र सहित तीनों लोक और सुर, असुर तथा मनुष्य भी आप लोगों के सामने युद्धभूमि में टिकने के लिए पर्याप्त (समर्थ) नहीं हैं।
English Commentary
Ravana reinforces his generals' egos. He uses the word Kamam (granted/admittedly) to concede their absolute superiority. He asserts that the combined forces of the cosmos (Indra, gods, demons, humans) cannot withstand them in the ranajire (battlefield). This is necessary to counterbalance the heavy warnings he just issued about Hanuman. A leader cannot send terrified commanders into battle; he must inflate their confidence to the point where they believe victory is inevitable, despite the specific warnings about the opponent's unique nature.

चेतावनी देने के बाद, रावण पुनः 'सैंडविच तकनीक' अपनाते हुए अपने सेनापतियों की प्रशंसा करता है। 'कामं' का अर्थ है 'यह सत्य है' या 'निस्संदेह'। वह कहता है कि आप इतने बलशाली हैं कि तीनों लोक आपके सामने नहीं टिक सकते। यह अतिशयोक्ति उनके अहंकार को तुष्ट करने और उनके भय को कम करने के लिए है। रावण जानता है कि अति-सावधानी से डर पैदा हो सकता है, इसलिए वह उन्हें याद दिलाता है कि वे अजेय हैं। यह एक मनोवैज्ञानिक चाल है ताकि वे उत्साह के साथ युद्ध में जाएँ।
