Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
अर्द्यमानस्ततस्तेन दुर्धरेणानिलात्मजः ।
चकार कदनं भूयो व्यवर्धत च वेगवान् ।
।
॥५-४६-२४॥
Ardyamānastatastena durdhareṇānilātmajaḥ । Cakāra kadanaṃ bhūyo vyavardhata ca vegavān । । ॥5-46-24॥
Translation
Being tormented/pressed by that Durdhara, the son of the Wind wreaked havoc and, possessed of speed, grew further (in size/power).
हिंदी अनुवाद
उस दुर्धर द्वारा पीड़ित किए जाने पर, पवनपुत्र हनुमान ने (शत्रु सेना का) संहार किया और वे वेगवान होकर (आकार व शक्ति में) और बढ़ गए।
English Commentary
The pressure from Durdhara attacks serves as a catalyst for Hanuman's metamorphosis. Ardyamanah acknowledges that the demon's attacks were effective enough to cause pain or trouble. In response, Hanuman activates his innate powers: he increases his vega (speed) and likely his physical stature (vyavardhata). He switches from defense to total offense (chakara kadanam - caused destruction). This escalation marks the transition from dodging arrows to preparing for the killing blow.

यद्यपि हनुमान बाणों को रोक रहे थे, फिर भी 'अर्द्यमानः' (पीड़ित होने/दबाव में आने) से स्पष्ट है कि दुर्धर के बाण उन्हें कष्ट दे रहे थे। घायल शेर की तरह, इस पीड़ा ने हनुमान के क्रोध को भड़का दिया। उन्होंने 'कदनं' (संहार/विनाश) करना शुरू कर दिया। सबसे महत्वपूर्ण बात यह है कि वे 'व्यवर्धत' (बढ़ गए)—उन्होंने अपना आकार और वेग बढ़ा लिया। सिद्धियों के स्वामी होने के नाते, संकट के समय 'महिमा' (विशालता) सिद्धि का प्रयोग कर वे शत्रु के लिए एक बहुत बड़ा लक्ष्य बन गए ताकि वे उस पर पूरी शक्ति से प्रहार कर सकें।
