ततः स मथिताष्टाश्वं रथं भग्नाक्षकूबरम् ।
विहाय न्यपतद्भूमौ दुर्धरस्त्यक्तजीवितः ।
।
॥५-४६-२६॥
Tataḥ sa mathitāṣṭāśvaṃ rathaṃ bhagnākṣakūbaram । Vihāya nyapatadbhūmau durdharastyaktajīvitaḥ । । ॥5-46-26॥
Translation
Then, leaving behind the chariot with its eight horses crushed and its axle and yoke broken, Durdhara fell to the ground, having lost his life.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तदनन्तर, जिसके आठों घोड़े कुचल दिए गए थे और जिसकी धुरी (अक्ष) तथा जुआ (कूबर) टूट गए थे, उस रथ को छोड़कर दुर्धर प्राण त्यागकर पृथ्वी पर गिर पड़ा।
English Commentary
The aftermath of the impact is total wreckage. The specificity of 'eight horses' (ashta-ashva) being crushed highlights the size of the chariot and the extent of the carnage. The structural integrity of the vehicle—the axle (aksha) and yoke (kubara)—is shattered. Durdhara is separated from his machine of war and falls to the earth, dead (tyakta-jivitah). The narrative emphasizes the destruction of the means of war (chariot/horses) alongside the warrior, rendering the threat completely neutralized.

हनुमान जी के एक ही प्रहार से संपूर्ण विनाश हो गया। रथ के 'अष्ट अश्व' (आठ घोड़े) एक साथ 'मथित' (मथ डाले गए/कुचल दिए गए)। रथ की धुरी (axle) और कूबर (yoke) टूटकर बिखर गए। रथ अब केवल मलबा रह गया था। दुर्धर, जो आकाश में अजेय लग रहा था, अब 'त्यक्तजीवितः' (प्राण त्यागकर) जमीन पर आ गिरा। यह दृश्य दिखाता है कि हनुमान का वजन और वेग कितना भयानक था। उन्होंने शत्रु को उसके वाहन सहित नष्ट कर दिया। पाँच सेनानायकों में से पहले का अंत हो गया।
