तं विरूपाक्षयूपाक्षौ दृष्ट्वा निपतितं भुवि ।
सञ्जातरोषौ दुर्धर्षावुत्पेततुररिन्दमौ ।

Taṃ virūpākṣayūpākṣau dṛṣṭvā nipatitaṃ bhuvi । Sañjātaroṣau durdharṣāvutpetaturarindamau । । ॥5-46-27॥
Translation
Seeing him fallen on the ground, Virupaksha and Yupaksha, the tamers of enemies and difficult to assail, became enraged and sprang up.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उस (दुर्धर) को भूमि पर गिरा हुआ देखकर, शत्रुओं का दमन करने वाले और जिसे हराना कठिन है, वे विरूपाक्ष और यूपाक्ष क्रोधित होकर (आकाश में) उछल पड़े।
English Commentary
The fall of Durdhara triggers an immediate counter-attack from his comrades, Virupaksha and Yupaksha. Their descriptors—durdharshau (inviolable/hard to attack) and arindamau (subduers of enemies)—reinforce their status as elite generals. Instead of retreating, they are fueled by rage (sanjata-roshau). They leap up (utpetatuh) to engage Hanuman in his element, refusing to cede the aerial advantage. This marks the second phase of the battle against the generals.

एक साथी की मृत्यु शेष योद्धाओं को भयभीत करने के बजाय क्रोधित कर देती है। विरूपाक्ष और यूपाक्ष (संभवतः भाई या निकट सहयोगी) दुर्धर का शव देखकर 'सञ्जातरोषौ' (क्रोध से भर गए) हो जाते हैं। वे 'अरिन्दमौ' (शत्रु-दमनक) हैं, कायर नहीं। वे हनुमान के नीचे आने की प्रतीक्षा नहीं करते, बल्कि स्वयं 'उत्पेततुः' (ऊपर उछलते हैं) ताकि आकाश में ही हनुमान से बदला ले सकें। यह राक्षसी प्रतिशोध की भावना है। वे जानते हैं कि हनुमान ऊपर हैं, इसलिए युद्ध का मैदान अब भी आकाश ही है।
